The Challenge

Macalester College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Paul, Minnesota, looking to implement its brand throughout the campus, respecting its existing identity and brand standards. This activation considers the experiences of all of the audiences: including future, current and former students, faculty, administration, staff, coaches, athletes, families, and fans.

Team MAC – aka The Scots – recognized an opportunity to improve the experiences of their athletes, teams, and fans by enhancing under-used and unused spaces in their athletic venues. Re-energizing the environments of the home team with designs of new stadium signage celebrating MAC’s athletic achievements and resurfaced team areas promote and inspires large-scale statements of school spirit. Let’s Go, Scots!

“Where the cities that surround us transform what’s within us”

While new students tour campus, one special stop is in the Admissions building, where the spaces welcome them, and physical environments engage them with the MAC story. A highlight of the tour is the presentation room, where soon-to-be students and their families are surrounded by the campus’s unique location, nested between the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
