Our 10 Favorite Holiday Movies

Our 10 Favorite Holiday Movies

We’re big fans of the Holidays here at Sussner Design Company, and we’re huge fans of holiday movies. And we love putting together fun lists of our favorite things, so we gathered our top 10 holiday movies in case it helps with your own movie marathon this season 🙂

The Notables:

10. A Christmas Carol –  The Charles Dickens classic.

9. White Christmas – Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye…nuff said.

8. A Christmas Story – “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

7. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer – Burl Ives narration plus stop motion animation warms our hearts.

6. Frosty the Snowman – We’d bet you can remember most or all of the words to the theme song!

5. The Santa Clause – Imagine getting recruited to take Santa’s place!

The Favorites:

4. Home Alone

Tanya: I could not possibly count how many times I made my parents rent this movie, and as soon as it ended, I’d watch it again. I always hoped that if I played it over and over, Kevin would’ve been able to (finally) enjoy his mac n’ cheese before the arrival of the wet bandits.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Danielle: Jim Carrey stars in maybe the most quotable Christmas movie ever. “Oooooh, ahhhh, oooh… That’s it, I’m not going!”

2. Elf

Callie: While I generally don’t love holiday movies, Will Ferrell makes Elf the exception. And the designer in me secretly wants to hate the mixed sans serif/serif decorative logo…but I really love it!

1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Coco: We watch this movie every December. It has so many great quotes! One of my favorites:

“WORSE? How could things get any worse? Take a look around here, Ellen. We’re at the threshold of hell.”

Tessa: Aunt Bethany wrapped up the cat in a gift box and made a lime jello mold with cat food! And Cousin Eddie’s white v-neck sweater with the black dickey turtleneck!

Derek: It’s THE “Fun-old-fashioned-family-Christmas” movie! Amazing cast, super-cool animated title sequence and an outstanding soundtrack. My favorite Clark quote (aka rant) is: “ …and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-a**, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey s*** he is! Hallelujah! Holy s***! Where’s the Tylenol?”

Our team had a blast coming up with this list of our personal favorites. We limited our list to ten, which means we missed a whole bunch of great movies. Please let us know which holiday movie is your favorite!
